The ferry, called the Thresher, is a separate business, a four minute crossing from Cunnamore Pier to the Island. Licensed to carry 12 passengers and may need to do two or more crossings.

Use scheduled daytime ferry. Depart 2pm, return 3.55pm or 5.55pm, €6 per person return. Scheduled service. (Enquiries : 086 809 2447).
It is advisable to be at the ferry five minutes before departure.
Directions by Car
From Skibbereen take the N71 towards Schull and after approx 3 miles turn left at Church Cross, signposted Hare Island and Cunnamore. Follow the narrow winding road, pass primary school, church, and Minihan’s Bar, and keep going until the road ends at Cunnamore Pier car park.
If using a smartphone, key in Cunnamore pier into Google Maps and it will take you there. Ireland’s postcode system is called eircode, if you key in an eircode into Google Maps it will take you to that building. You will find information at eircode.ie, Island Cottage’s eircode is P81 HY52.
